To cater to the social, physical and emotional growth of every child under our care, the school offers an athletic stadium with an eight-lane 400m track and a gallery for 2500 spectators. The facilities include a training ground for jumps, pole vaulting, shot-put, discus throw and so on.
Cricket has become a passion for many. The school imbibes this enthusiasm and has built a full – fledged cricket grounds for the use of students. The physical strength, stamina and collaborative effort by the team members can be achieved through different games. The school offers a football stadium, synthetic basketball court, volleyball court and tennis court.
Indoor sports and games are encouraged at all times, as the physical training is not limited to the best and suitable weather conditions. Our indoor sports complex has badminton courts, billiards court, and table tennis tables.
All the dormitories are provided with carrom boards and a chess board for the use of students.
The school has one of the finest rifle shooting training facilities in the country. Two indoor 10m shooting ranges with electrically operated targets for rifles and pistols have been set up in the campus. The school has also an outdoor shooting range.
Yoga is one of the most recognized ways for enhancing the state of our mind and body. A few minutes of yoga during the day is helpful in enhancing and maintaining good health and personality. Practicing yoga improves physical health, dissipates excess energy, and relieves tiredness. For curious young minds, yoga is a relaxation technique that lengthens their attention span, reduces stress, enhances mental clarity and sharpens concentration. Yoga can produce a calming effect, which helps children get into a frame of mind conducive to learning. The school facilitates one hour of yoga practice session every day for the students under the training of expert yoga teachers.
Students can learn in one of seven areas: Creative Writing, Instrumental Music, Visual Arts, Theater, Dance, Vocal Music and string and key board learning. Students may also learn group discussions, participate in debates and simulation programs and quiz programs. Such activites should bring the communication skill of the students to a much higher level.
The School calendar is filled with sporting activities throughout the year. Sport forms an integral part of life in The Vijay Millennium school. The facilities available in TVMD provide a great opportunity for students to excel in a sport of their choice. Every evening 4.30 to 5.30 the students are taken for special games by special coaches in various games like cricket, football, Basketball, Lawn tennis, Volley ball and throw ball.
Our students are taught on every Wednesday, ECA activities like skating, Rifle shooting, taekwondo, Skipping, Gymnastics, Silambam, Archery. The Coaches are well trained to make our students to face national levels competitions.
