The Catering Department provides hygienic food for lunch. All students are encouraged to eat at least a small portion of all food served at each meal to ensure a healthy, balanced diet with a sufficient calorie intake to maintain their health and growth. We strive to make all our dishes in-house. We constantly aim for good nutrition and best practices in student health and wellness. Organic food material is sourced whenever possible. The best ingredients from the local market are used for all our preparations.
There are no plastic water bottles sold at AES; the school provides safe drinking water at all fountains and coolers. The entire community is encouraged to bring in refillable bottles. In addition, wherever possible, biodegradable utensils and recyclable bags are used in our take-away kiosks.
The Vijay Millennium library includes books, newspapers, magazines, kindles, desktop computers, reference materials, CDs and DVDs. The school has excellent library facilities with over 48432 volumes of books, comprising references, prescribed texts and popular fiction. The school subscribes to over 6 newspapers which include daily editions as well as student editions, some national and international magazines. It is equipped with a computerized data base, enabling the students to have an easy and quick access to the necessary books The school has various festivals, displays and activities organized from time to time to promote reading. These include reading hour sessions, interaction with authors, author birthday celebrations, literary events, quizzes, summer and winter reading challenges.
Well qualified teacher librarians assist these skill developments.
The Vijay Millennium has the safety and standards of the national curriculum. Three spacious separate labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are used to infuse a spirit of learning and inquiry in the young minds. The experiments conducted in the labs helps the student understand the complex concepts better , giving them the opportunity to be inquirers and facilitating them to explore the world beyond the books .
Mathematics Lab is designed uniquely to enable students to learn, explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems through a variety of activities using different teaching tools The layout of Math Lab is designed in mathematical shapes and can accommodate up to 30 students in 6 different tables (5 in each table). This arrangement will facilitate collaborative learning among students.
Cybernetics and Information Technology have made inroads into academic programmes as prescribed by the curricula on offer in our school. Students have unlimited access to computers and the professional software tools that go with them. Our teaching laboratories are equipped with computers all networked to common file servers and connected to the outside world via the internet through leased lines.
Our hostel is constructed with well-built infrastructures with world level granites. The rooms are well ventilated with seven beds in each room.
Since the hospital is just ten steps away from the school, medical facilities within the campus may not be helpful, because of the nearness of the well equipped medical center. However the management is considering a part time nurse for the primary section during the class hours
Though it is very difficult to organize and maintain more than 100 transport vehicles, our staff with their strategically logistics planning makes it looks simpler to commute the students and teachers as well. The transports are well maintained and clean all the time. The routes, pick up and drop points are predetermined by the logistics staff They are however directed by the administration office.
All our drivers are well trained and practice kindness, politeness and compassion towards all students and teachers. In short the school prides itself in maintaining a haste free transport department.
